Women's / Men's Pelvic Health
Pelvic health relates to the pelvic floor, which is more often associated with just women, however the pelvic floor is present in both men and women.
The pelvic floor consists of a number of layers of muscles and ligaments that acting “as a hammock”, support the bladder, bowel and reproductive organs. The pelvic floor muscles arise anteriorly from the pubic bone running the length of the base of the pelvis, attaching posteriorly on to the coccyx (tail bone).
The pelvic floor needs to be a consideration with pelvic pain, pregnancy, postnatal, bladder and bowel issues.
We will look to obtain the best functioning pelvic floor to restore management of the bladder, bowel and reproductive organs, which in turn will also restore confidence.
“If pain continues to persist after a few days or weeks, or for more serious injuries, it is best to see a health care professional to advise you further on appropriate rehabilitation.”
