Dry Needling

Dry Needling

Dry needling is a treatment performed by skilled and trained therapists certified in the procedure.

“Dry” in the sense that they do not inject anything into the body. A thin monofilament needle penetrates the skin and treats underlying muscular trigger points for the management of neuromuscular pain and movement impairments.

Your muscle fibers may involuntary exhibit a “local twitch response” This is perfectly normal and often painless. Some people can find dry needling can cause some pain during and after treatment.

Usually if you experience pain it is short-lived and indicative of the body’s natural healing processes. Symptoms typically resolve within a few days and then your body should feel even better than it did before.

When inserted it may briefly cause the muscle to contract, then it relaxes. The potential benefits of dry needling include:

– Reduction in musculoskeletal pain levels

– Accelerates the body’s natural healing processes

– Reduces headaches

– Increases blood flow

– Increases range of motion

– Lowers muscle tension

What our patients say

Phillip

"I have had the pleasure of knowing Samantha for many years and ever since I moved away to the states I still haven’t found someone here as exceptional as Sam. Very detailed and thoughtful in her approach in wellness, recovery and treatment. Being a competitive athlete and performer in the film industry I am not a stranger to extreme activities and long physical hours. Her treatments have always been exactly what I needed. She is a true pioneer in this field. I look forward to my next series of treatments whenever I visit."
